Your privacy and the security of your personal information are very important to us. To help ensure your privacy we provide this notice that explains our online information and security practices. You control what information you provide and which of the designated organizations receive it.

ExpressAddress computer systems used to process your transactions employ strong controls to ensure the security of customer information. Access controls, firewalls and other hardware and software security components are used to protect internal systems from unauthorized access.

Information Collected by Technology:

ExpressAddress uses IP (Internet Protocol) addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement within the site, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. An IP address is a unique address assigned to each computer connected to the Internet. It refers to the standards in which computers talk to other computers via the Internet. An IP address does not personally identify you.

This site does not use Cookies.

ExpressAddress Respects Your Wishes:

Only the organizations you choose will have access to your information. The organizations that you do not choose will not know that you have visited and used this site. We will not share, sell, rent, give, trade or otherwise disclose any of the information you provide to us to any organization you do not select.

Unless required to by a court order or by law, we will not make your information available to third parties. In that case, we may be legally required to disclose your personal information. Only the information specifically requested will be disclosed and we will take precautions to ensure that the request to disclose is legitimate, and the information disclosed is kept confidential.

Once your information is forwarded to the organizations that you have selected, it will be handled in accordance with their individual privacy and security policies. Please be aware that ExpressAddress is not responsible for the privacy practices of participating organizations. We encourage users to be aware when they leave our site, and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this website.

Not all of the organizations will require all of the information you will be asked to enter. Each organization will only be provided with as much of the information as it requires in order to process your request.

Updating the Policy:

The purpose of the Privacy and Security policy is to provide flexible guidelines that can be adapted to meet the demands of changing technology and the varying expectations of customers regarding privacy. We may update this privacy and security policy from time to time. We may add, modify, or remove portions of this policy when we feel it is appropriate to do so. If we change our policy we will post it to this page in a timely manner. The new policy will apply to present and past users of our website and will replace any prior policies.

Misuse of the Site:

The data held on the host system is CONFIDENTIAL and PRIVATE PROPERTY. Access to the data is only available for authorized users and specified purposes. Unauthorized entry and intentional submission of false information may subject the user to civil and/or criminal sanction. Please only use our site for the legitimate purpose for which it was created.

Use of Information: works with each organization to identify the information required to make an address change on behalf of the user. We then collect this information, while ensuring we provide at least the same levels of protection against fraud that the organizations would provide.

Our site denotes which pieces of information are required by each organization. Users may choose not to provide certain pieces of information, but may not be able to complete the associated address changes without it.

We will always use information in accordance with the privacy and security policy under which the information was collected unless we receive permission to do otherwise from you. If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users by way of an e-mail or phone, and then wait for their consent. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner.

The types of personal information required by organization to validate change requests, and which we collect are:

  • Complete legal name of the customer
  • Secondary customer name(s)
  • Complete new mailing address (street/city/town/postal code)
  • Complete service address/Land location/Lot Block
  • Requested Service Date
  • Organization(s) to be notified
  • Account Number(s)
  • Previous address
  • Home phone number(s)
  • Source(s) of income
  • Work phone number
  • Cell phone number
  • Personal identification numbers such as Driver's Licence number, Provincial Health Card number, or Social Insurance Number
  • Date of Birth
  • Name(s) of others authorized to represent the customer (eg. property manager)
  • Names and telephone numbers of emergency contacts
  • Nature of service
  • Other information as required by organizations to meet service requirements

Once your information has been submitted the organizations that you have selected will receive your request and the information you provided. As well, your first and last name along with your confirmation number and the organizations you selected is written to a report and sent to the website management company and kept in a secure environment. Fourteen days after you submit your requests all of the data you entered will be deleted by ExpressAddress. This procedure is to protect your information while meeting your needs for customer inquiries. Please retain the confirmation number, which will be provided when you complete a request, for any inquiries.
